Spine gently leaning; rear board very slightly bowed; small splash to front board; just a touch of wear to spine ends and corners. Dust jacket spine panel faintly darkened; occasional minor edgewear with two short closed tears to the front panel and a couple small nicks at the fold edges. Near fine. A beautiful copy of an easily worn book, housed in a custom clamshell case. The fourth Philip Marlowe mystery. Basis for the 1947 first-person film noir directed by and starring Robert Montgomery.
