[Mexican War]. Photographs of Monterrey, Mexico, with Battlefield of Buena Vista Albumen Card, circa 1880s. 9.75" x 6.75" and smaller. This collection of four photographs features the battlefield of Buena Vista, where Zachary Taylor's force defeated Santa Anna's army in late February 1847. Also included are three photographs of Monterrey, Mexico, and its nearby battlefield, where the Battle of Monterrey took place in September 1846. Here, the Mexican Army of the North was defeated by Zachary Taylor's Army of Occupation, which consisted of United States Regulars, Volunteers, and Texas Rangers. Small tear at top of largest photograph.
