Very rare early Charleston, South Carolina newspaper with 3 slave ads including a front page ad: "For Sale / A Gang as Likely / Country Born Negroes", an inside page illustrated ad offering a reward for the capture and return of a runaway slave to his "owner" and another inside page runaway slave reward ad. Very rare early Charleston, SC newspaper printed during the very week that George Washington was inaugurated as the first US President. Close cropped at the margins.
