Description

Coca-Cola: Attorney Asa Candler's Trademark & Patent Law Book. 6" x 9.25" leather-bound book titled "The Coca-Cola Company. Opinions, Orders, Injunctions, and Decrees Relating to Unfair Competition and Infringement of Trade Mark", 1923 first edition, 648 pages. The cover is gold-stamped with the name of the owner "Asa W. Candler". Asa Griggs Candler (1851-1926) founded the Coca-Cola company in 1892, after purchasing the rights from inventor John Pemberton. He took the product from a regional drug store concoction to a worldwide beverage juggernaut and American icon. We could not find any record of "Asa W. Candler" but it appears he was an attorney representing the company and no doubt closely related to the founder. The book is extensively illustrated and it makes for fascinating reading, viewing all the copycat names and trademarks that wannabe entrepreneurs foisted upon the market. Very good condition with light wear to the extremities.
