Description

Robert E. Lee: Large Format Post-War Portrait by Pollack. Vignetted portrait taken by Henry Pollack of Baltimore in 1869 while Lee was en route to Washington, D.C., one of two or perhaps three poses. This was the first series of photographs made of Lee while he was wearing a necktie. 5.25" x 7.25" oval albumen affixed to the original 7.5" x 10" mount (trimmed) with blind-stamp of the photographer at the lower edge of the albumen. Very good condition with light toning to the mount.
