Jefferson Davis: Eight Cartoons Satirizing The Former Leader of the Confederacy. Eight cartoons all different, seek to ridicule Jefferson Davis capitalizing on greatly exaggerated reports of him fleeing in women's clothes. Sizes vary from 12.75" x 16" to the largest at 13.75" x 19.75".Condition: Five of the eight cartoons are mounted to board. One example that is mounted to board titled, "The Confederacy In Petticoats." has a small 2" tear in the right margin through the board backing and into the print, easily repaired with archival tape. Some examples exhibit even light toning but are without tears, overall they are each in generally fine to extra fine condition.
