Description

Framed Posters with Real Photo Images of Gangsters Including Bonnie & Clyde, Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd, Richard Hauptmann, and John Dillinger. An unusual group of five similarly designed printed cardboard posters depicting notorious criminals from the 1930's with applied real-photo images. Each poster measures 15.5" x 24" (overall), is on stiff cardboard with photos pasted above and below printed captions. These posters are contemporary to the events depicted, the photos appear to be official press release images showing in sometimes shocking gory detail the demise of their subjects. These were likely displayed in theaters as advertisements for short news clips shown between movie features, or possibly in newspaper storefronts, news stands, or kiosks. Each poster is housed in a similar black wood frame without glass. A highly unusual and provocative set of posters we have not seen before!

Condition: Most have minor warping, damp stains, a small piece missing from an image or cardboard, soiling and wear. Refer to the photos.
