Airship Autograph Book: Crashed Killing 44 out of 49 Crew Members. On August 24, 1921 airship R. 38, ZR-2, U.S.N, crashed while flying over the city of Hull, England. The cause was determined to be a structural failure while in flight. The result was the death of 44 out of 49 crew members. At the time it was the largest airship ever constructed, and was the first of the great airship disasters. This autograph book contains 22 signatures of the men who served on the airship. Not only does it contain the signatures, but also a pencil drawing of the city of Hull with the airship splitting in two over it.

Condition: Signatures and drawing excellent, binding loose with wear. A few loose pages.
