The Pennsylvania Gazette: Actions of Francis Marion, "The Swamp Fox", During the Revolutionary War, August 29, 1781. 10" x 16.25, 4 pp. Revolutionary War newspaper contains news coverage of the actions of Francis Marion, known as the "Swamp Fox" in South Carolina, during the Revolutionary War. This issue also contains coverage of US General Lafayette and British General Cornwallis moving towards their decisive battle of Yorktown, Virginia that would seal the American victory over Great Britain and thus mark the independence of the United States.Condition: Edge roughness at left edge, dampstaining. A very good example of a rare Revolutionary War newspaper.
