Thomas Nast: Original Sketch "Extra Dry & Very Cool. Unusual Nast work picturing the Mayor of NYC holding a walking stick looking out the window at a gentleman holding a large bottle with "Extra Dry and Very Cool" titled bottle. Below the Mayor is the caption "The Duty Of The Mayor To Keep Himself Informed". At the upper left it reads "No Thoroughfare By Order Of Squire Commissioner Of Public Works". There are bags of money on the ground and piled under the Mayor. Likely has to do with political payoffs pertaining to liquor. Nast has signed at the lower right corner. Measures 8.5" x 8.5" (sight) and 14" x 14" matted.Condition: Fine.
