Description
Franklin D. Roosevelt: On Our Way, Inscribed and Signed. On Our Way. New York: The John Day Company, 1934. First edition. Octavo. 300 pages. Inscribed and signed by Franklin D. Roosevelt to White House employee, Marion S. Singer, and presented as a Christmas gift in 1934, "Marion S. Singer, Merry Christmas from Franklin D. Roosevelt 1934." Light blue cloth with spine and front board stamped in gilt. Housed in a custom dark blue linen slipcase with black morocco spine label lettered and ruled in gilt. FDR collector bookplate affixed inside the slipcase chemise.Condition: Spine dulled with small spots on the rear board. The recipient has made two corrections in ink to the text: once, on page x of the foreword crossing out "party" and writing the word "property," and inserting the word "not" in one statement on page 162. Very good.
