Description
Lincoln & Hamlin: Unique Ferrotype Jugate. AL-1860-116, 22mm, brass. Ferrotypes arrived with a bang in the election of 1860, and among the inventive designs were "uniside" jugates for all four compelling presidential tickets. These designs have a tendency to come with some bubbling of the surface emulsion, but this is a choice, well-centered example with a beautiful, smooth surface. Ferrotype retains great contrast and gloss. Minor black mark below names, else fine. Back of pin reads "Steele Johnson 1860/ Waterbury." Retains original pin-a real rarity! No minimum bid.
