Description

Clay & Frelinghuysen: A Stunning 1844 Kellogg Improvement on the Familiar Currier Grand National Banner. Hand-colored 10.75" x 15". Of the many similar designs produced by the rival print-makers, surely this must be considered one of the most beautiful. Doubtless quite rare. We do not recall seeing another example. Lavishly and expertly hand-colored. Some light damp stains around border, but overall in very fine condition. The Kellogg "banners" are often trimmed for some reason, but this one has ample borders and is ready to frame and enjoy.
From the Collection of David and Janice Frent
