Description
Abraham Lincoln: Awesome Emancipation Proclamation Needle Case Souvenir. 2" x 3" needle case sold at the Philadelphia Sanitary Fair in June 1864. The binding is covered in green fabric and the interior has a silk lining. Titled "Proclamation. January 1st, 1863.," it prints the text of the proclamation on the front and rear cover. Bound in blue silk. The interior has three wool patches. An important piece. We have seen no other examples. President and Mrs. Lincoln personally attended this event.Condition: Fine with minimal wear.
