Description

Plains Indian Bow, c. 1870. This 39" bow has a trade cloth layer applied to the front then was hand painted on both sides. The hand grip has an additional layer of thread sewn black and red wool strapped in place with a cotton cord. The are also some remaining remnants of the bowstring. In very good condition with moderate wear from age and handling. The Michael Ward Collection of Western Americana
