Octavo (7.125 x 5.25 inches; 183 x 135 mm.). 127, [1], [8, publisher's ads] pages. Publisher's tan paper wrappers, printed in black; front title printed in red. All edges trimmed. Backstrip slightly worn and wrinkled with minimal paper loss at either end; short split starting at bottom of front joint; a bit of edge wear, rubbing, soiling to wrappers. A touch of staining to top and bottom edges of text block; bumping to corners carries throughout text block at upper spine corner. Near fine. Queen's Quorum 34.[Together with:] The Loot of Cities. Being the Adventures of a Millionaire in Search of Joy. London: Alston Rivers, [1904]. First edition, issue in wrappers, white variant. Octavo (7 x 5.375 inches; 178 x 138 mm.). 127, [1] pages. Publisher's white paper wrappers, printed in black; front also printed in red. All edges rimmed. General light toning and spot-staining to wrappers; backstrip wrinkled with very slight paper loss at ends; short splits starting at each end of front joint; mild rubbing with a bit of soft creasing to wrappers. Edges of text block slightly darkened and rubbed; top edge faintly speckled; soft bumping to corners. Near fine. Queen's Quorum 34.
Housed together in custom red cloth chemise in book-backed slipcase, one-quarter red morocco over red cloth; spine tooled in gilt with five raised bands. With bookplate of Florence and Edward Kaye.
