Description

James K. Polk: Lone Star Medal. JP-1844-5, 27mm white metal. A very rare campaign medal depicting Polk on the obverse and a hickory tree, lone star, and sunburst on the reverse, inscribed: "Polk, Dallas, Texas". UNC condition with reflective surfaces, but with some spotty green discoloration resulting from contact with non-archival vinyl coin holders. This does little to detract with the visual appeal and rarity of the piece. From the Merrill C. Berman Collection.
