8vo. Publisher's black cloth, gold printed labels on front cover and spine; original pictorial dust jacket by Cleo; quarter morocco folding case.

FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING, without the legal disclaimer on page [x], in the first state dust jacket, with "Catherine" spelled "Katherine" on the front flap. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR on the front free endpaper: "To Ward Cameron / with good wishes / Ernest Hemingway."

Condition: A little wear to spine ends and corners; a little edgewear; cloth rubbed and dulled; labels a bit darkened with a few nicks; rear hinge starting. Ink transfer from inscription onto pastedown; endpapers a little toned. Unclipped dust jacket (priced $2.50) with spine panel lightly sunned and with minor wear at ends; front panel with small irregular hole on image and some light spotting; a little toning to flap folds and rear panel; minor soiling; some light toning and spotting on verso.
