Buzz Aldrin: Apollo 11 "Giantstep" World Tour Peace Corps Briefing Book Originally from His Personal Collection. A custom three-ring binder "Prepared for Astronaut Edwin E. Aldrin, Jr." Inside is a signed letter from Peace Corps director Joseph H. Blatchford, dated September 26, 1969, to Aldrin, in part: "The material in this briefing book will give you specific information on certain Peace Corps programs in some of the countries you'll be visiting on your upcoming Earth orbit. In addition, we've included some general information on Peace Corps and notes on programs in the areas of science, engineering and technology". The tabbed sections list various cities on the crew's victorious Apollo 11 World Tour. Each section contains the complete itinerary for that stop, information about the location, and even hotel room assignments. A fascinating look at the world as it was in late 1969 when America's space heroes orbited the earth one more time. Fine condition.Auction Info
