Description

[Civil War]. Union Soldiers' Pay Receipts. Two receipts, each measuring 8.25" x 3.25", Strafford, dated October 19, 1863 and November 30, 1864, paying seven dollars due to Elias Sow as extra pay due to him as a soldier. Elias B. Dow enlisted as a Private and served with the 4th Vermont Infantry. In 1864 he was captured and held as a prisoner in Virginia before being paroled on December 13, 1864. Both receipts have been hole punched.

Condition: Lightly toned, holes punched affect only a small area.
