W. F. & Co. Stamped Colt Lightning Double Action Revolver with Leather Rig.Serial no. 158708 [frame, triggerguard and butt], .38 caliber, 3 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. Three-line, three date patent and Rampant Colt logo to left side of frame. Left side of frame reads: W.F. CO. EX. 118. Checkered factory grip panels with embossed Colt logo. Manufactured in 1905. Contained in leather holster with belt. Together with photocopy of letter from Charles Worman, Gun Author to Bob [Palazzo] in 1988 regarding this gun and offering it for sale. In it he describes the gun and its authenticity as not being able to get a Colt letter on it, but ......"it does look legitimate to me", he states.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered areas of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Smooth checkering and scratches present to grips. Action good. Lightly pitted bore. Leather displaying honest age wear. From the Estate of Robert (Bobby) Palazzo, Westlake Village, CA.
