Description
Jean Aepplis Single Shot Percussion Dueling Pistol.Unserialized, approximately .50 caliber, 6 7/8-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Damascus finish. Case-hardened upper tang, hammer and lock. Top of breech marked: AEPPLIS accented and outlined in gilt. Upper tang with gilt number 1. Lock marked: JEAN AEPPLIS. Checkered walnut stock. Blank shield escutcheon to left side of stock.
Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 90-94% finish with thinning to relief edges, scattered scratches and very fine patches of pitting. Scuffs and dings present to wood. Noticeable crack to left side near screw. Action crisp.
