Description
Spanish-American War: Army 8th Corps Medal and Corp Badge Named to Lt. John Andreas Koster.Includes: 1) 8th Corps Army of the Philippines medal, 29 x 29 mm, numbered 3509 on the suspension loop, pinback. The gilded-cross is decorated in fine enamel work and features an 8th Corps insignia in the center. The reverse is finely engraved "John Andreas Koster". 2) 8th Corps pendant approximately 27 x 48 mm, maker marked Shreve & Co. and 14k. The pinback hanger is marked 18.U.S.V.98. The reverse is finely engraved "John A. Koster". The consignor notes that Koster served in the 1st Battalion of the California Heavy Artillery.
