Description
Whitney - Kennedy Lever Action Rifle.Serial no. M274, .45-60 caliber, 28-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and rear elevation sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. Crescent metal buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 8705 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum, Part II.
Condition: Good. Retaining traces of finish, the balance a smooth grey patina with noticeable signs of age, handling wear and areas of pitting. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Cleaning rod absent. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
