Ainsworth Inspected U.S. Colt Cavalry Single Action Army Revolver.

Serial no. 10331 [frame, triggerguard and butt] and 0331 [cylinder], .45 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front blade sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Ainsworth inspector mark A to base of barrel, triggerguard, cylinder and backstrap. Two-line and two-date patent and U.S. to left side of frame. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Manufactured in 1874.

Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of finish, the balance a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Some case-coloring remains. Noticeable dings and bruising present to wood. Action crisp. Strong bore. The Bill Bentham Collection.
