Description

Civil War: Two Named Facsimile Confederate Crosses of Honor.

Includes: 1) 34 x 34 mm, screw-back hanger marked "P. WOODWARD" on the obverse and maker marked Charles Crankshaw, Atlanta on the reverse. There are eleven soldiers named Woodward with "P" initials in the Civil War database. The consignor notes that his research indicates this medal was awarded to P. S. Woodward, a surgeon from Nashville, Tennessee who served in the Field and Staff, Medical Staff. 2) 34 x 34 mm, screw-back hanger marked "W. A. HANSELL" on the obverse and maker marked Charles Crankshaw, Atlanta on the reverse. Though several Hansell's are listed in the Civil War database, none have the initials W.A. The database of course, is not complete in all cases.

Condition: Very good. Facsimile.
