Civil War: Group of Four Massachusetts Corps Badges.

Includes: 1) German-silver identification badge, 28 x 28 mm, hook suspension, engraved "S. P. H. / Fourth Battalion Rifles / C / 13th Mass Vol.". The consignor notes that this badge is identified to Samuel P. Hunt who enlisted on June 29, 1861 as a Private and mustered into "C" company of the Massachusetts 13th Infantry. In November of 1863 he transferred to the 101st Company of the Veteran Reserve Company. The consignor also notes the following two Corps badges belonged to Hunt as well. 2) First Army Corp, Second Division Corps badge, 33 mm in diameter, brass with white wool center, pinback. 3) First and Fifth Corps badge worn by some member of the Third Division, Fifth Corps, German-silver with brass cross, 25 mm in diameter, pinback. 4) Second Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Militia Emergency Corps badge, pinback, German-silver with red enamel cross, 38 x 33 mm.
