U.S. Springfield 1866 Allen Conversion Percussion Musket with Bayonet.

Unserialized, .50-70 caliber, 40-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Lock marked: 1864, (eagle) and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Smooth hardwood straight stock with three barrel bands, two sling swivels and metal ramrod. 12713 to left side of stock. Metal triggerguard and U.S. stamped carbine buttplate. Socket bayonet with 17-inch blade and scabbard.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a bright grey patina with scattered handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Scuffs and dings present to wood. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
