Description
German cyq Spreewerk P 38 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Associated Holster.Serial no. 4743 [barrel, slide and frame], 9mm caliber, 5-inch barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Blued finish. Left side of slide marked: P 38 and cyq. Carved Oak Leaf to right side of slide. Grooved hard rubber grip panels. Lanyard ring. Contained in associated military proofed P38 leather holster, marked: CXB.
Spreewerk GmbH was one of three manufacturers that produced the P38 pistols for the German military, with the others being Walther and Mauser. The "cyq" marking specifically identifies pistols made at the Spreewerk plant in Spandau, a suburb of Berlin.
Condition: Good as configured. Retaining approximately 70-80% finish with thinning to relief edges, handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Scattered scratches to grips. Crisp action. Bright bore. Some storage wear present to leather.
