Description
Colt Third Model Dragoon Percussion Revolver.Serial no. 17805 [barrel, frame, triggerguard, cylinder and butt], .44 caliber, 7 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Top of barrel marked: ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YO [rest hidden under sight]. Case-hardened hammer and frame, left side stamped: COLT'S / PATENT. Brass triggerguard, with the left side stamped L and M. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Manufactured in 1858.
Condition: Very good as cleaned. Finish a bright grey patina with areas of handling wear and patches of pitting. Some faint lettering. Some case colors remaining. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Action good. Pitted bore.
