Gold and Silver-Mounted Spurs by Jerry Cates.
Double-mounted card suit show spurs. 2 1/2-inch spoke rowels on a 3 heart (silver, copper and gold) shank. Vine and floral-engraved silver overlays to bands. Gold rope borders. Swinging buttons with 4-quadrant engraved silver covers. Marked: CATES # 4527. Sold together with card-suit tooled Buddy Foster leathers finished with large card-suit concho.
Note: Jerry Cates is listed in "Bit and Spurs In The Texas Tradition" by House et al. Page 111 ends with, "...Jerry's bits and spurs are out on the range on the horses and heels of men working cattle in Texas, 25 other states and five foreign countries. His pieces are highly coveted by serious bit-and-spur collectors and the cowboys who use them every day.

Condition: Excellent. Darkening patina to silver.
