Scarce U.S. Air Force Colt Aircrewman Double Action Revolver.

Serial no. 7288-LW [frame and crane], .38 special M41 caliber, 2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. Rampant Colt logo to left side of the frame. Checkered walnut grip panels with inlaid Air Force medallions. Backstrap marked: PROPERTY OF U.S. AIR FORCE. Air Force Inventory number A.F. NO. 822 stamped on butt.
Note: Less than 1,200 Aircrewman were produced by Colt and most were destroyed by the Air Force when they were removed from service. It is believed that possibly only 50 of the revolvers survived.

Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 94-96% finish with some thinning to relief edges, scattered minor handling wear and very fine patches of pitting. Few scuffs and scratches present to wood. Action crisp. Strong bore. The Michael Ward Collection of Western Americana
