Description

Rodeo Trophy Belonging to Rick Chatman of the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame. 17-inch long bronze sculpture of bull and rodeo clown. 8-inches high on carved hardwood base. Marked: THE BAD CAT AND THE BUMBLE BEE and signed: T.R.CHYTKA 3/10 1985. Right side of base inscribed: RICK CHATMAN.

Rick Chatman was a famous Cowboy Bullfighter, aka Rodeo Clown whose black and yellow colors earned him the nickname of "Bumblebee." He held a PRCA card for nearly 30 years and worked in that sport's biggest rodeos including Ft. Worth, San Antonio, Denver and Cheyenne. Chatman's achievement of winning the World Bullfighting title, the PRCA Clown of the Year Award and working the NFR, all in the same year, has never been matched.

Tony Chytka is a rural South Dakota native, rancher and former champion bull rider and now sculpts western and rodeo scenes in bronze.

Condition: Fine. Light age wear and patina.
