Description
Engraved J.G. Bolen Allen's Patent Percussion Pepperbox Pistol.Serial no. 4 [frame under grips and inside grip panels], .36 caliber, 5-inch barrel cluster marked: BOLEN PATENTED 1837 CAST STEEL. Top hammer stamped: J.G. BOLEN and ALLEN'S PATENT. Nipple cover. Scroll engraved frame. Smooth hardwood grip panels.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a bright grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Action good. Moderately pitted bores.
