Engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Factory Letter.

Serial no. 51590 [frame, triggerguard and butt], .44-40 caliber, 4 3/4-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Nickel-plated finish. Elaborately scroll engraved receiver and butt. Three-line, three-date patent to left side of frame. Mother-of-pearl grip panels. Manufactured in 1879. Sold along with Colt factory letter dated October 10, 1994 stating: shipped to Schulyer, Hartley & Graham in a shipment of 50. Also, shipped "Blue" but no mention of the barrel length and type of stocks.

Condition: Very good as refinished and configured. Overall showing noticeable signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Barrel markings are very faint. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
