Merwin and Hulbert Large Frame Single Action Pocket Army Revolver.

Serial no. 5733 [marked 7513 inside grips], 44-40 caliber, 3 1/2-inch barrel. Nickel-plated finish with black hard rubber grips with Bird's Head Butt. Two-line address on left side of barrel. Left side of frame marked CALIBRE 1873 / WINCHESTER [makes it a 44-40 caliber]. Right side frame marked MERWIN HULBERT & CO. N.Y./ POCKET ARMY. Case-hardened hammer and trigger.
Please note: Merwin, Hulbert & Co. operated during a time of significant innovation in firearms. They were contemporaries of more widely known manufacturers like Colt and Smith & Wesson but distinguished themselves with unique design elements. However, despite their innovative designs, the company faced financial difficulties and eventually ceased operations in the late 19th century.

Condition: Fine, retains most original finish with light marks and loses to high traffic areas of use. Minor flaking to cylinder. Action crisp, bore good. Light tracking line present.
