Smith & Wesson U.S. Cavalry Issue Schofield Second Model Single Action Revolver with Letter.
Serial no. 7845 [butt], .45 S&W Schofield caliber, 7-inch ribbed barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. Right side of frame marked: USIA. Signed letter by the consignor says that this revolver was re-issued to the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs. Smooth hardwood grips with faint cartouches to each side. Left panel dated 1877. Butt stamped: US. Also sold with S&W letter in response to consignors inquiries about the revolver, it confirms specifics and dates of this Schofield model.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with noticeable wear and pitting. Minor scuffs and dings to grips. Few thin crack repairs to left panel. Action functions.
