Description
4-Digit Ainsworth Inspected U.S. Colt Single Action Army Revolver.Serial no. 8846 [frame] and 11398 [triggerguard], .44 caliber, 5 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. Two-line, two-date patent and U.S. to left side of frame. Smooth walnut one-piece grip.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina with noticeable signs of age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood, with some loss at corners. Possible replacements. Crack all the way through the right side. UT carved into each side. Action functions. Lightly pitted bore.
