U.S. Hall - North Model 1843 Breechloading Saddle Ring Carbine.

Unserialized, .52 caliber, 21-inch barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Top of action marked: U.S. / S. NORTH / CONN. / 1848. JH stamped to left side of breech. Side lever. Smooth hardwood straight stock with two barrel bands and metal ramrod. Saddle ring. Metal buttplate.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina with scattered handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Heavy scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Some cracks at wrist. BFM carved to left side of stock, VA to right side. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
