Description
Civil War: Group of Three Tintypes of Unidentified Union Soldiers.Includes: 1) 16th plate tintype bust portrait of a young Union soldier housed in a rare "The Young Tar" Union case (Krainik 618). 2) 6th plate tintype of a seated Union soldier holding his musket. The soldier's cartridge box and shoulder belt and the details of his uniform are clearly shown. The image has been colored by hand to highlight details. Housed under glass in an embossed leather case with gilt eagle motif on the lid. 3) Quarter plate tintype of a standing Union soldier posed with his sword and a revolver tucked in his belt. Elements of his uniform and facial features have been hand-colored. Housed under glass in a grained-leather case.
Condition: All examples in very good to excellent condition.
