Description

Remington New Model Army Single Action Revolver.

Serial no. 120551 [base of barrel and frame under grips], .44 caliber, 8-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858 / REMINGTON & SONS ILION NEW YORK U.S.A. / NEW MODEL. Each side of barrel stamped with a W. P inspector mark to base of brass triggerguard. Smooth walnut grip panels.

Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of finish, the balance a smooth grey patina with areas of handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered dings and scuffs present to wood, some loss to base of left panel. Action functions. Pitted bore.
