Description

Alan Bean Large Color Limited Edition "In the Beginning..." Lithograph Signed by Twenty Apollo Astronauts Directly from the Personal Collection of Astronaut Al Worden, Signed and Certified. An Artist Proof print, 26" x 30", pencil numbered "AP 118/150", still contained in the original Greenwich Workshop folder with the printed text: "In honor of all astronauts who took part in the Apollo program." Around the central artwork of the celebrating astronauts on the moon are the mission insignias of all eleven manned Apollo spaceflights. At least one member of each crew has signed beneath their respective emblem: "Wally Schirra" (1923-2007); "Walt Cunningham"; "Frank Borman"; "Jim McDivitt"; "Rusty Schweickart"; "Tom Stafford"; "Buzz Aldrin"; "Michael Collins"; "Charles Conrad Jr" (1930-1999); "Richard Gordon"; "Alan Bean"; "James Lovell"; "Fred Haise"; "Alan Shepard" (1923-1998); "Stuart Roosa" (1933-1994); "Edgar Mitchell"; "Dave Scott"; "Al Worden"; "Charlie Duke"; and "Harrison H. Schmitt". This represents eight of the twelve moonwalkers; the potential exists of adding two additional moonwalkers, Gene Cernan and John Young, through private signings. Worden has also signed on the verso: "From my Personal Collection/ Al Worden/ Apollo 15 CMP". As-issued condition.
