Description
Fine Colt Model 1878 Frontier Double Action Revolver.Serial no. 38234, 7 1/2-inch barrel, 44-40 WCF. Blued finish with matching hard rubber checkered grips with oval Rampant Colt embossed. Standard Hartford top of barrel address. Left side of barrel marked COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER. According to Flayderman's, "The Frontier Double Action is one of the largest frame revolvers made by Colt's", total production reached 51,210. This particular gun was manufactured in 1898
Condition: Excellent. Showing 96-98% plus original deep blued finish with minor handling wear concentrating on left side near muzzle and backstrap. Sharp markings throughout. One screw on right side of frame with a scuff. Case colors present on loading gate. Action and bore excellent. The best Colt 1878 Double Action revolver we have ever offered for sale.
