Description
Superb Boxed Detachable Shoulder Stock for Smith and Wesson New Model No. 3 Single Auction Revolver.Nickel-plated finish with walnut stock. Hard rubber buttplate with S&W monogram. Stock is complete with its original box. End label reads SMITH & WESSON / EXTENSION 44 STOCK / SINGLE ACTION. NICKEL. Note: According to Flayderman's, "Extension or Attachable stocks, were made in limited quantities for various models of their large single-action revolvers." Also, Most were supplied and fitted to the guns at the factory; apparently none were serial numbered to match the gun, except for the Australian Models. Stocks could be purchased individually at later date, requiring the owner to have to adapt revolver for it" A rare and seldom seen example in the box. See 5G-141.8 in Flayderman's guide.
Condition: Excellent to mint. Showing no use and hardly any handling. End label complete. Box with minor scuffs and tears, complete and desirable.
