Description
Reproduction Engraved Colt 3rd Model Dragoon Percussion Revolver.Serial no. 15641 / E [barrel, frame, triggerguard and butt] [5641 to cylinder], .44 percussion caliber, 7 1/2-inch round barrel with blade front sight. Gun mostly in the white. Contemporary light engraving throughout, not deep. Barrel address, reading breech to muzzle, ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY. Left side of frame marked: COLT'S/PATENT. "K" stamp to triggerguard; front of trigger. Cylinder with rectangular stops. Round brass triggerguard and backstrap. Modern wooden grips. Note: Appears to be put together from mostly newer/contemporary parts to resemble a period gun.
Condition: Very good as configured. Metal a very smooth mottled bright gray patina with scattered patches of fine pitting throughout. Smooth mellow patina to brass, redone. "E" stampings appear spurious. Grips very good. Action functions. Bore dark.
