Engraved Bartles Percussion Rook Rifle.
Unserialized, 8mm caliber, 27-inch octagonal and fluted barrel. Fixed front sight and and rear folding leaf sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Elaborately scroll engraved receiver, lever, hammer and triggerguard. Dual triggers. Checkered walnut pistolgrip stock and splinter fore-end. Sling swivels. Silver oval escutcheon to base of stock. Scroll engraved metal buttplate with hinged cartridge compartment. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 8351 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum.

Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 70-80% of a dulling blue finish, with scattered areas of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs and dings present to wood. Large 2-inch scuff to right side of fore-end. Action crisp. Strong bore.
