Civil War Identification Disk Belonging to Private Henry C. Wild, Maryland 1st Potomac Home Brigade Infantry.

Brass, 30mm in diameter. Obverse features a Federal shield with the caption "THE UNION AND CONSTITUTION / WAR OF 1861"; the reverse is captioned "HENRY C. WILD / CO C / 1ST MD REG / P H B / ENLISTMENT / SEPT 9 / 1861 / BALTIMORE MD". Wild's ID disk is accompanied with photocopies of enlistment records, pension records and other miscellaneous service documents.

Henry C. Wild enlisted as a private on September 13, 1861 and mustered into C Company of the Maryland 1st Potomac Home Brigade Infantry. Records show he transferred out on April 8, 1865 into C Company of the Maryland 13th Infantry, though records show him in the 13th from late 1864 ("joined from desertion"). Records indicate that he was cited several times as being absent without leave; was listed as a deserter from July 1, 1864.

Condition: Some wear and darkening to the disk, good condition.
