18th Century Italian Snaphaunce Marked "Pistoia".
Unserialized, approximately .54 caliber. 4-inch part round, part octagonal stepped barrel. Snaphaunce lock with spring loaded sliding pan cover. Barrel, lock, hammer, etc. silvered brass. Lock and hammer with simple engraving. Top of breech marked "Pistoia". Simply carved hardwood stock with ornate brass floral adornments. Brass butt and modestly-etched brass trigger guard. Wooden ram rod.

Condition: Very good as shortened/modified. Retaining approximately 90% silvered fining on the metal, with some deliberate areas of rectangular loss on the top and left side of the breech. The pistol has been shortened from its original configuration. Small holes in the stock near the muzzle. Mechanically sound.
