Description
Turkish Horseman's Flintlock Pistol.An unserialized, .64 caliber horseman's flintlock pistol featuring a 13 3/4-inch round barrel, crafted with exceptional European workmanship. Both the lockplate and top of the barrel are signed. The stock is silver-mounted, adorned with intricate high-relief silver motifs of arms and patriotic symbols characteristic of the region. These details are prominently featured on the pommel cap, trigger guard, wrist, and forend. The stock also exhibits silver wire inlay throughout, with a large star and crescent-the symbol of the Ottoman Empire-engraved near the upper tang and in smaller versions on the stock. The gun's craftsmanship suggests it was made for an individual of high rank. A ramrod with a horn tip is included, and the overall length is 21 inches.

Condition: Good for its age and configuration. Metal finish primarily dark grey patina with patches of pitting overall. Some wire inlays to stock missing, but mostly present. Some silver mount work, missing pieces, primarily to underneath. Stock with dents, bruises and minor losses. Verdigris present. Ramrod with hairline crack and minor loss to tip. Action ok, with some lag but working. Bore dark, as expected.
