European Partizan Polearm.

Approximately 87-inches overall with a 11 1/2-inch double edge spearpoint blade with double curved upright configuration. Steel lance head and ferrule with design. 70-inch octagonal wooden shaft secured by two side iron strap bands [15 3/4-inches] with round-head rivets or nails. Note: According to A Glossary of the Construction, Decoration and Use of Arms and Armor Book by Stone, "Partizans, It was, and is, particularly the weapon of the guards of dignitaries and many specimens are elaborately decorated."

Condition: Good to very good. Metal with handling age wear and patina. Light to moderate marks and surface imperfections present. Edges sharpened at some point. Fringe with losses and tears. Wooden shaft solid solid, but scuffs and mars throughout. From the Sylver Schaller Collection.
